Luke 1: 37 (NIV) “For no word from God will ever fail.”
This statement was spoken to Mary at the annunciation. She was told that she would be with child and that her cousin Elizabeth was already that way. A miraculous set of circumstances seeing that Mary was a virgin and Elizabeth assumed to be unable to have children. And an important word of reminder for those who wait. God’s promises will not fail.
So keep waiting for your wayward child. God promises he will never leave or forsake us and that his desire is for all to be saved. No word from God will ever fail.
Keep waiting for the day when you or a loved one will be healed. Jesus is the great physician and will make a day where all pain and sickness will not exist. No word from God will ever fail.
Keep waiting for the fog of depression to lift. Jesus said that those who are poor in spirit will inherit the Kingdom. No word from God will ever fail.
Keep watching for peace on earth and goodwill to all people. Jesus is called the Prince of Peace and promises a day when nations will not learn war and natural enemies will be friends. No word from God will ever fail.
Keep watch over those who grieve. For Jesus says God is bringing comfort to all who mourn. No word from God will ever fail.
I love the hope that Luke 1:37 brings. But it is only a hope to those willing to wait. May God grow our desire and our strength to be such people.
Needed this today. Many thanks for your timely and poignant message. Merry Christmas to all the Nelsons!
