So our salvation lies not in an escape from this world but in the transformation of this world . – Center Church by Timothy Keller, Daniel Strange, Gabriel Salguero, and Andy Crouch
Jesus said he is making all things new…not all new things. Transformation takes place only if and when we are willing to remain in community, to remain committed to the truth, and to remain filled with compassion. Did you catch the commonality…to remain. Leaving does not bring about transformation. It almost always brings division.

Jesus didn’t say He would ice over the grit of faults and failures either; He said He would use us in spite of the grit and faults and failures. – Love Does by Bob Goff and Donald Miller
I, for one, am glad that Jesus uses me in spite of my brokenness. This has been coming up more and more in my reading and prayer life in the recent weeks. The great leap of faith is hanging in long enough for God to use you. Keeping your head up long enough to see what God is doing and how, if, you can be helpful.

It’s good to learn from your mistakes. It’s better to learn from other people’s mistakes.” — Charlie Munger
I love this quote. Learning from your mistakes is wise. Learning from other people’s mistakes is maturity. Reading is one way we can do just that. Charlie Munger was Warren Buffett’s partner before Charlie died recently. He is well-known for reading hours each day. He considered reading the most important part of his work. He wanted to see what other people did that worked and didn’t work so that he could appropriate the positive and avoid the negative.
