You are righteous, O Lord, and your judgments are right. 138 You have appointed your decrees in righteousness and in all faithfulness. 139 My zeal consumes me because my foes forget your words. 140 Your promise is well tried, and your servant loves it. Your promise is well tried…and your servant loves it.
Psalm 119v137-140 italics added
What promise of God have you tried recently? Not that we put God to the test but rather trust God to do what he says he will do. In other words, choosing to living into God’s promise(s) as the strategy of our life. That is exactly what I believe God wants us to do. The first thing we must do is learn God’s promises. The second is to not stop with learning but put into practice. How often do we settle for plan B (our strength, wisdom, outcomes we can control) because we haven’t trusted God with plan A (his strength, his wisdom,, his perfect will)?
Let’s try some of God’s promises this week. The psalmist above loved that way I life and I know we will too.
