Search me and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
Psalm 139:23-24 NLT
A daily review of our heart is like a daily shower. Awareness. Cleansing. Renewing. Preparing. If practiced with intentionality and humility, it provides the Spirit of Christ space to keep us focused on the ways of Christ. The above memory verse for the week is a great help to examine our heart.
My encouragement would be to pray it slowly and often. Pay close attention to anything that is brought to your awareness. Briefly write it down before you forget and then pray that the Holy Spirit would work upon your life to heal, forgive, give mercy, and do whatever is necessary. The final piece is to trust that God will do just that.
For a more in depth look into the need for awareness, transparency and accountability here is a sermon from this weekend.
