Psalm 118:29

Psalm 118 begins and ends with the same verse which says, “O give thanks to the Lord, he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.” It is a reminder of the upcoming Palm Sunday on which we celebrate the Lord’s steadfast love and goodness.

Thanks be to God that it is his faithfulness, love, and goodness that brings us hope and not our own. For some of the same persons shouting “Hosanna” on his entry were yelling “crucify him” upon his exit. Humanity is fickle. We are swayed by our emotions and by crowds and by fear and doubt.

We need a Savior who is not. And we have one who is not. His name is Jesus.
