Day 19: 2 Corinthians 5:16-21

We regard no one from a human point of view.

2 Corinthians 5:16

As forgiven people we are not only happy but free from our past sin that entangled us. Free, and capable, to begin looking at the world from God’s viewpoint.

Seeing others from God’s viewpoint frees us from the drive of competitiveness. It frees us from the fear of rejection. God’s viewpoint is wide enough to give space for a bad day or a misunderstanding not to derail a relationship. Looking at others with God’s eyes means compassion for their weakness not condemnation; patience for times of failure not quick tempered responses; always ready to forgive instead of trending toward bitterness; and wise to speak the truth in love instead of biting our tongue in silence.

In my opinion, viewing others from God’s perspective is one of the greatest gifts we can give one another. And it is a sure avenue to productive relationships that allow the kingdom of God to come on earth as it is in heaven.

Who in your life are you having struggles with right now? Let me encourage you to picture them through God’s perspective and notice the difference it makes in your own life and eventually in theirs.
