I am not sure I agree with Trueblood for I’ve seen movements that were contagious built on pretenses. But on the other hand it gives me hope because I feel being genuine is something within reach for all people including pastors and church leaders. Be yourself. Trust that God made you enough. In other words, you do not need to be more than you are for God to use you.

And this goes for groups such as churches as well. Rather than chase after growth strategies, maybe we are better off being the best version of who God made us to be and trusting that God will honor that.
