Advent 2017 – Up Close and Personal – Monday, December 18

Romans 16:25–27

25 Now all glory to God, who is able to make you strong, just as my Good News says. This message about Jesus Christ has revealed his plan for you Gentiles, a plan kept secret from the beginning of time. 26 But now as the prophets foretold and as the eternal God has commanded, this message is made known to all Gentiles everywhere, so that they too might believe and obey him. 27 All glory to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, forever. Amen.  (underline mine)

AN ADVENT PRAYER

I want to be strong.  I want to stay in the moment and not get ahead with worry.

I want to be strong.  I want to know that whatever may come I will not falter.

I want to be strong. I want to see my life provide inspiration for others.

I want to be strong.  I want to persevere to the end without wavering.

I want to be strong.  I want to create a legacy that my children can be proud and that my community can benefit.

I want to be strong.  Will I be humble enough to admit I cannot and will not do this on my own?

I want to be strong.  May I realize that it begins with humility of heart.

I want to be strong.  My hope is realized in that in my weakness your strength is made complete.

So I wait for you.

Amen.
