I was reminded again this morning after my first run in a week how intertwined our body, mind and spirit are. First run, six miles, and my mind is clearer and more productive. I had the best of devotional times this morning and am ready to move ahead in several areas that I feel God’s leading. Was reminded that 1Cor. 3:16 (NLT-SE) says, “Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? 17 God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.” As we take care of and even restrict the destructive items we place into our bodies, it honors God and syncs us with Him. Now, I am not saying that we are to worship our bodies! Don’t hear me say that. But what I am saying is that it honors God when we take care of what He has given us. It all comes down to a stewardship issue.
I may never be the fastest or strongest or most gifted athletically just as I will never be the wealthiest or smartest. But what matters is what we do with what has been given us.
