Many Happy Returns

Andover Pic

It was announced this weekend in service that Paul Brunstetter and I will both be returning to serve First Church the upcoming Conference year.  As you may know, Methodist pastors are appointed annually by the Bishop and the Cabinet (made up of District Superintendents).

Susan and I are affirmed by the vote of confidence from the Conference leaders and look forward to what God has planned for the new year.  We are also grateful for the unbelievable support we receive from the congregation.  You have made our first four years in Lexington the most precious time we have had as a family.

As we begin to make plans for the fall of 2009, all I can say is hold onto your seats for I believe God is calling us to go deeper and deeper into this journey.  I am more excited now than ever about Andover's future.  My prayer is that God will use each of us to continue to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ in this community.

I'm one of the pastors at First United Methodist Church in Lexington, Kentucky where I've served for the past thirteen years. The sub-title of this blog is "Grace is no accident" which happens to be the defining reality of my life. God's grace (gift) is the reason we have breath in our lungs and hope in our hearts.
