What this article does not mention is the fact that many people will not have the opportunity to retire in the future. Lack of savings coupled with stock-market losses hamstring many people.  The people in this article seemed to not have that issue, but many do.  Rather than live out our lives at a standard of living below what we are accustomed to, many are opting to remain employed.
