I continue to believe that the inner core of humanity is good.  I believe that people are inately gifted with the ability to care for one another and to make decisions that go beyond what is good for me “today” and tread closer to what is good for us “tomorrow”.  And so I agree that the battle for peace is a battle for the hearts which is a battle for renewing the mind as the Apostle Paul says in Romans 12:2:

Do not be conformed  to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve  what is the will of God – what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.
