The above link is an interview McLaren did with a Dallas Morning News Religion writer. I am not a McLaren groupie, but I do believe he has created some much needed dialogue in the Christian community. The emergent church movement has drawn a lot of publicity lately for its grassroots appeal on issues such as the environment and poverty. The mainline denominations are better off for being forced to grapple with our lack of response to issues such as global warming and the AIDS crisis. We are starting to live into a much more compassionate season of the church’s lifecycle in my view.

I'm one of the pastors at First United Methodist Church in Lexington, Kentucky where I've served for the past thirteen years. The sub-title of this blog is "Grace is no accident" which happens to be the defining reality of my life. God's grace (gift) is the reason we have breath in our lungs and hope in our hearts.
