The Nelson household received (3) phone calls from Anne Northrup’s campaign on Monday evening. The last of these home invasions happened at 10:19pm.

Here is my question for the day. Does an impersonal attempt at sending a message help or hurt your message? Are people more likely to be turned off or turned your way? I believe that the medium of the message is just as important as the message. Communication theorist tell us that communication is a confluence of message, medium, sender, receiver and static all rolled together. You mess up on part of the equation, and the message is at risk.

This holds great importance for the church, in my view. More to come…

I'm one of the pastors at First United Methodist Church in Lexington, Kentucky where I've served for the past thirteen years. The sub-title of this blog is "Grace is no accident" which happens to be the defining reality of my life. God's grace (gift) is the reason we have breath in our lungs and hope in our hearts.
