Dallas Morning News News for Dallas, Texas SportsDay: Top Stories
First Round was a success. Lexington was College Station North today as the Aggies played Univ of Pennsylvania today at Rupp Arena. Marshall and I were lucky enough to be invited to the game by friends of ours. I won’t give you play by play, but did want to give you a little insight into the 7 year old I went with today.
About 8 minutes into the second half, Penn pull ahead by 4 after trailing by 12 earlier in the game. The crowd was decidedly pulling for the underdog Penn and it was really irritating Marshall. He can’t understand why anyone would root against his Aggies. So what does he do? Stands up and screams at the crowd to be quiet and sit down. Marshall then pulls hit Aggie hat down firmly over his brow and begins to growl. He then goes on to say that if the Aggies don’t concentrate better and start passing the ball for better shots they might lose this game. And you know what? He was right. They called time-out and came back more focused and converted the next 4 trips down the floor to take the lead for good.
Madelyn and I went to the nightcap games and had an equal amount of fun. She loved seeing Greg Oden in person. She said, “Dad, he’s really big.” At 7 foot and over 250 pounds, I agreed!
What a great day we had. I will post pictures later in the week.
Can’t wait for the game against Louisville on Saturday.
