Retreat Week

I have spent four of the past six days in retreat. These have been good times of prayer, lots of brainstorming, and soul searching for the groups involved. I sense a quickening of God in the midst of First Church Lexington. We stand at the precipis of something very exciting in terms of investing in our people to help them reach out in the community.

To those of you who are faithful intercessors for me, I thank you. And I also implore you to continue in your efforts. Pray that God will continue to move in hearts. Pray that He will inspire more people to become involved in the Andover project. And pray that this spiritual journey will deepen the faith of those involved.

I'm one of the pastors at First United Methodist Church in Lexington, Kentucky where I've served for the past thirteen years. The sub-title of this blog is "Grace is no accident" which happens to be the defining reality of my life. God's grace (gift) is the reason we have breath in our lungs and hope in our hearts.
