HERE IS A PIECE THAT I SENT OUT THIS MORNING TO OUR OFFERINGS GROUP…THOUGHT IT WAS A POST WORTHY TOPIC

The Starbucks Fix is On
“We have identified a third place. And I really believe it sets us apart. The third place is the place that is NOT work or home. It’s the place our customers come for refuge.” Nancy Orsolini, District Manager Starbucks.

As we continue to brainstorm and pray about where God is taking Offerings, l want to challenge us to not limit ourselves, or more importantly God! There is a real spirit of change and excitement moving through our Sunday evening times together. What other things could we do to make this a destination place for: community, authenticity, acceptance, and challenge? Why is the “church” not the ‘third place’ instead of Starbucks? More accurately, why is the church not the “FIRST PLACE” for refuge? Two things about our society: 1. they crave community, 2. they are extremely interested in things “spiritual”. We offer both! So again I say, what is it that keeps people from looking to get their needs met at a church? I think if we have a good answer for that, we have a good start on the next step in our Offerings journey.
