I have been talking about community for the past couple of weeks. This past week, I have seen community in its finest form. Thanks to everyone who took care of us during the passing of Susan’s mom. The love shown to us carried us each day and continues to carry us. If you don’t have a church home and are reading this post, I beg you to begin to find one today. It is inside these relationships that God gives us strength to face life’s challenges. It is inside the church that God makes susre we are surrounded with love. In it’s finest moments, the church becomes God’s hands and feet serving the world. Do not tarry my friends. Get involved. Meet someone else’s needs. Be God’s hands and feet. I can tell you that nothing is more meaningful or needed in our day and time.

I'm one of the pastors at First United Methodist Church in Lexington, Kentucky where I've served for the past thirteen years. The sub-title of this blog is "Grace is no accident" which happens to be the defining reality of my life. God's grace (gift) is the reason we have breath in our lungs and hope in our hearts.
