Couldn’t help but reflect on the striking similarities between God’s love and grace and the water that had been pouring into our basement over the past two days of flooding in Greater Cincinnati.
1. It just comes out of nowhere. God’s love shows up in the strangest places and at times that we are least prepared for it. Maybe it’s a particular song on the radio, or a sunset, or a hug from a child that ushers in God’s love.
2. You can’t stop it. Make no mistake, no matter what we do (or don’t do) God’s love will always be and always be available to us.
3. If you search hard, you can find the source. Yes it comes out of nowhere, but with some diligence, the source of God’s love can be found. When we search for God with our whole heart, we will find God. NLT Deuteronomy 4:29 And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him.
